The FMBallet is your regional professional dance company.
Our production of The Classic Nutcracker has a LIVE professional orchestra made up of professional musicians in the Fargo-Moorhead area. This is rare for many major ballet companies in the USA and we are blessed to dance along side them.
Our company and productions feature professional local dancers and guest artists.
We hold open auditions for dancers age 6 - adult for our production of The Classic Nutcracker and Aladdin.
We charge NO activity fee for dancers who participate. We believe in allowing dancers and artists to be apart of the magic of performing and as a professional company we do not believe charging community participants.
We have a professional costume designer, Suzanne Spiese.
We have added tiered ticket seating this season to make it attainable to the community. Remember, money spent at an FMBallet production stays in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
This is our 6th season bringing the magic of The Classic Nutcracker to the NDSU stage, it is our 5th season with a LIVE professional orchestra.
New to our season, we are working on an outreach program called Relevé. This program is for youth with disabilities to be able to dance.
Artistic Director, Matt Gasper grew up training in the community and locally dancing professionally before he danced with Cleveland-San Jose Ballet when it was the 5th largest ballet company in the United States.
Because of the growth of our company, this season we added a Junior Company to provide an opportunity for youth ages 10 - 19 to continue their training towards becoming a FMBallet Company member or other professional dance company.
We, the FMBallet, are celebrating our 12th season performing in the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding community.
