Summer Dance Intensive

Continue your dance training at an elite level this summer with our 3-week Summer Dance Intensive. Dancers will meet Monday through Thursday for a full day of dance training with master instructors from around the United States and half days on Fridays. Over the last decade we have seen amazing growth in the dancers who have attended our program.

Audition

Unable to attend an audition? Submit a video by May 1, 2025 (see details below) Or contact us to schedule a studio audition within 60 miles of Fargo, ND (at least 5 dancers need to participate). Email us for more information.

Audition Information

We have open auditions for our Summer Dance Intensive. Auditions take place in Fargo, ND, however, we can coordinate with your studio to host an audition at your location.

​

  • Auditions are open to all dancers age 9 - adult.

  • Dancer's should be trained at a pre-intermediate through pre-professional level to audition.

  • Those who audition are required to turn in a Headshot (no larger than 5" x 7") and Dance / Performance Resume.

  • Auditions are conducted like a ballet class. Please arrive ready to dance. No need for preparation of routines for the audition.

​

Audition Attire 

Females:

  • Black leotard

  • Pink / Skin Tone tights

  • Ballet slippers and/or pointe shoes (if your dancer is en pointe).

  • Hair must be in a ballet bun.

​

Males:

  • Solid black or white shirt,

  • Black Ballet Tights or Black Solid Shorts. Solid black unitard is okay.

  • Black Ballet Slippers.

  • Long hair must be pulled back.

2025 Audition Info

Video Submission Information

Are you unable to attend our Summer Intensive Audition dates? You may also submit a video by May 1, 2025.

What we need to see in your video submission:

  • A ballet barre including the following on alternate sides:  

    • plié 

    • tendu, dégagé

    • rond de jambe and fondu

    • frappe 

    • developpé or adagio

    • grand battement

  • A ballet center including the following on both sides:

    • adagio, pirouette combination with en dehors and en dedans turns 

    • petite allegro

    • grand allegro

In addition to your video submission, please include the following in your email:

  • Dance Resume 

  • Dancer's Headshot

Summer Intensive Info

The FMBallet Summer Intensive takes place for 3-weeks each summer. We bring in sought after master instructors in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, and specialty dance styles.

​

Dancer's accepted into our summer program and accept the three week program will dance Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm and Fridays from 8:30am - 12:30pm at Gasper's School of Dance's Downtown Studio (Home of the FMBallet).

​

Those enrolled and accepted who take an individual week will be dance Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm.

​

Friday's will be focused on choreography, performance, and repertoire to help with choreography retention, as well as overall movement. Great skills for auditions and learning of choreography, improv and skills dancers may use throughout their season.

​

They will train in styles of ballet, pointe / pre-pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, and more. We find that a well rounded dancer is a stronger dancer.

​

Dancers will need to bring a packed lunch each day. They will have a 30 minute lunch break scheduled into their daily schedule.

​

To keep hydrated, we suggest bringing a water bottle. 

​

2025 COST

  • $1,800.00 (All 3 weeks, includes $150 non-fundable deposit)

  • $720.00 (Single week cost, includes $75 non-refundable deposit)

Female Attire

Ballet & Contemporary Class

Black Leotard, Pink Tights, ballet slippers / pointe shoes. Character skirts for variations okay.

​

Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre Class:

Black Leotard, may add a skirt or shorts. Jazz & Musical Theatre: Jazz Shoes, turners or character shoes; Tap class: Tap Shoes.

​

Male Attire

Black or white solid t-shirt or tank top. Black ballet tights or black athletic pants. 

​

Shoes appropriate for the style of dance.
