Summer Intensive - CiCi Houston Sudholt

We look forward to having CiCi Houston Sudholt as one of our Summer Dance Intensive Instructors this July. CiCi si the rehearsal director for St. Louis Ballet and we are thrilled she will be here to train our dancers. Read on to learn more about Ms. CiCi.

CICI HOUSTON SUDHOLT

CiCi Houston Sudholt received her initial training in her hometown near Detroit, Michigan, from Theresa Crawford as well as the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She furthered her training at the Virginia School of the Arts under the direction Petrus Bosman and David Keener while augmenting her studies in summers at Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, and Pro Arte Danza (Italy). A former company dancer with Saint Louis Ballet, Ms. Houston also was a guest artist with Dances Patrelle, aTrek, and internationally, dancing featured roles in ballets by George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Gloria Contreras, Gen Horiuchi, Keith Lee, Francis Patrelle, and Marius Petipa. A teacher since

1998, Ms. Houston was at Alexandra Ballet for twelve years, where she taught, choreographed, served on the Board and as Administrator, eventually earning the title of Co-Artistic Director. As a former Director for Regional Dance America’s MidStates region, she participated in eleven festivals. Returning to Saint Louis Ballet in 2015, Ms. Houston serves as Rehearsal Director for the Company, Admissions Coordinator for the Professional Training Program, and Director of Outreach and Education, as well as faculty in the school. She oversees and stages repertoire, working closely with guest choreographers and repetiteurs including Charthel Arthur (Arpino repetiteur), Elyse Borne (Balanchine repetiteur), Christopher D’Amboise, Brian Enos, Michelle Gifford (Wheeldon repetiteur), Tom Gold, Emery LeCrone, Miriam Madhaviani, Nilas Martins (Balanchine and Martins repetiteur), Francis Patrelle, Amy Seiwert, Shelly Washington (Tharp repetiteur) and Artistic Director Gen Horiuchi. Ms. Houston has an extensive list of original choreography, and is currently working on a new work to premiere in May 2023; it will be her third work created for Saint Louis Ballet. She is thrilled to be returning to FMBallet for their 2023 Summer Intensive.
