FM Area Foundation - Caring Catalog

This season we are very fortunate to be part of the FM Area Foundation's Caring Catalog. We were one of the chosen companies out of several non-profit companies that applied this season and were chosen to be part of this amazing giving opportunity.

For our campaign this season we are asking for the communities assistance to continue to help funding for our FEE FREE program! For over 18 years (and beyond) the FMBallet and the Gasper family has provided opportunities to dancers of all levels to perform at no cost. Below is our description submitted to the FM Area Foundation.

Thank you in advance for your donations and support as we find that offering dance performance opportunities for no cost is important to help young (and old) artists have an outlet to perform no matter what their economic status is.

Thank you to the FM Area Foundation for the opportunity to be part of the Caring Catalog and offering this to non-profits in our community.

Donation time frame is November 29 - December 13, 2021.

The Classic Nutcracker - Fee Free Programming

The FMBallet offers opportunities to area dancers to perform alongside our company members. This program is fee free to all dancers involved. In order to keep this program fee free, we look to individual and business donations, as well as grant money. Oftentimes, fees can deter a dancer to perform. We want to give as many dancers as possible (youth and adults) the opportunity to dance and perform. We find it builds confidence, it creates future art supporters or performers, and dancing alongside our professional company members inspires them for the future. All over the country companies are charging $500+ to dancers to perform in their Nutcracker. This is something we feel strongly against. We do not want to pass a fee along to dancers. And productions, like The Classic Nutcracker do cost quite a bit of money to produce (from costumes, to set pieces, rehearsal, and theatre rental, as well as production staff). With funds received we can give a fee free performance opportunity to over 50 area dancers. We can't wait to bring the magic to the stage, as well as to the dancers performing in this production.
