Reprising her original role of the Sugarplum Fairy, Mikal Kenfield is back dancing with the FMBallet this season for The Classic Nutcracker. Ms. Mikal Kenfield was our original Sugarplum Fairy when we started the holiday tradition back in 2011. We are delighted to have her on stage with us once again this season and share her talents with the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding area. Mikal Kenfield
Mikal began dancing at the age of 4 in her hometown of Missoula, MT. She studied at both the Garden City Ballet and the Missoula Dance Academy, and appeared in numerous productions, including Coppelia, La Boutique Fantastique, and The Nutcracker. Upon graduating from high school, Mikal moved to Moorhead to attend Concordia College, receiving her degree in Social Studies Education in 2003. She has been dancing in the FM area since 1999 and found a home with the FMBallet in 2006. While a member of the FMBallet, Mikal performed in a number of productions, including: Tubby the Tuba, Peter and the Wolf, Firebird, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and The Classic Nutcracker. Mikal lives in Moorhead with her husband, Josh, and her two little boys, Marshall and Julian (future members of the FMBallet, of course!). While not dancing, she serves as the Director of Residence Life at Concordia College.
