Guest Artist: Matthew Gasper

Matt Gasper grew up in a performance family. His parents Kathy and Eddie Gasper moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area when Matt was a toddler after performing on Broadway and around the world. It was in Matt's blood to perform. At a young age he decided he wanted to be a professional dancer. Many hours of hard work and training was put in at the studio where he trained under his parents, as well as private lessons with his mom. During the summers he would train at summer intensives throughout the United States. Right out of High School, Matt left the Fargo-Moorhead area to pursue his career in dance. He danced with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet company for several years making his way up the company ladder (at the time it was one of the largest and most recognizable ballet companies in the United States). He left the company to pursue a career in musical theatre, following in his parents footsteps. He moved to NYC and worked in off-Broadway productions, as well as touring shows. In NYC, he continued to train at various studios in the city including Broadway Dance Center and STEPS. Matt is currently the Artistic Director of the FMBallet as well as the owner and operator of Gasper's School of Dance.

This season we are delighted to have Matt Gasper back on stage dancing the role of the Nutcracker Prince. He brings passion, strength, and a performance factor to the role you won't want to miss. See him this holiday season in The Classic Nutcracker, December 15-17 at NDSU Festival Concert Hall. Tickets now available.
