Auditions: 2023 The Classic Nutcracker

We are holding open auditions for all area dancers and movers age 6 - adult for our holiday production of The Classic Nutcracker. Dancers in the cast will along side our professional company and live professional orchester in this magical holiday production.

Audition Info

Sunday, September 10, 2023

1:00pm - 2:00pm -- Ages 6 - 8

2:00pm - 3:00pm -- Ages 9 - 11

3:00pm - 4:00pm -- Ages 12 - 15

4:00pm - 4:45pm -- Dancers en Pointe (dancers should attend their age group as well)

4:45pm - 5:30pm -- Ages 16 - Adult

Attire

• Female: Leotard, tights, ballet slippers (skirts optional, no dance shorts or leggings)
• Male: Atheletic pants or shorts or ballet tights, solid colored t-shirt or tank top. Ballet slippers.
• Adults: moving adults please wear something comfortable to move in. Socks are fine.

Submit / Info

• Dance / Performance resume
• Headshot
• Conflict Sheet (Between September 11 - December 17, 2023)
• No audition prep needed. Dancers will learn a combination at the audition.

Performance Information

• Required on stage dress rehearsals: December 13 & 14, 2023
• Performances December 15 - 17, 2023 at NDSU Festival Concert Hall.

Rehearsal Information

Due to the limited amount of rehearsal time, we ask that dancers attend all rehearsals for the part they are casted in.

Rehearsals take place

• Wednesday evening (advanced dancers) -- until closer to the show
• Saturdays
• Sundays
• We do our best to release the rehearsal schedule at least 2 weeks in advanced.
• A required fitting will take place in September 2023. Dancers MUST attend this fittig to be part of the production.
