MARKIE FECHTNER

TRAINEE

Markie is 13 years old and has been dancing for over 11 years. Gasper’s School of Dance is her home base and she has trained in a variety of dance styles over the years with her favorite styles being lyrical and musical theater.  Markie has been performing with the FMBallet since the age of six and is thrilled to be joining the company for the first time this year.  She was honored to play the part of Mayor of Munchinland in FMBallet’s production of Wizard of Oz in 2017 and her favorite role was a Trick-or-Treater in Spooky Ballets 2022.  

 

In 2022 and 2023 Markie enjoyed training with premier dance instructors from all over the US at multiple dance conventions including GForce, Radix (scholarship recipient), NUVO (scholarship recipient), and University of Minnesota Dance Team.  She has been awarded the following achievement: “Parade of Stars” at Masquerade Dance Competition, “Small but Mighty” at Bravo! Dance Competition, “Potential Plus” / “Best Presentation”  at Triple S Dance Competition, “Outstanding Stage Presence” at Masquerade Dance Competition, and “Beth Nicely” / “Best Actress- Middle School” for Oak Grove Theater Program.  Markie comes alive on the stage!  She enjoys participating in the Oak Grove theater program during the school year and has participated in Gooseberry Park Players, Trollwood Performing Arts, and Ignite Theater in the summer.

 

Markie attends the 8th grade at Oak Grove Lutheran Middle School.    She is excited to share her love of performing with the FM area this year!
