Jayla started asking if she could be in dance when she was three. Finally at age 8, her mom let her try a summer class and she has been dancing ever since. She began at Ballereana in Sioux Falls, SD and then to Top of the Stairs in Jamestown, ND after her family moved while she was in 7th grade. Her love of dance, especially ballet and pointe brought her to Gasper’s School of Dance in Fargo, ND. Starting in 8th grade, she took classes on zoom for two years before committing to the drive to Fargo for three years. She continues to take classes at Gasper’s but is enjoying the much shorter commute from the NDSU campus this year where she is a freshman majoring in Exercise Science. She attended summer intensives the past two years at Sacramento Ballet, FMBallet, and South Dakota Ballet.

This is Jayla’s third year dancing in FMBallet productions and her second year as a member of the company. Her performance experience includes parts in The Classic Nutcracker, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, two pieces for Ballet Alliance, Wizard of Oz, and Alice in Wonderland.
