Thank you to everyone who came out and auditioned for Tribute's - The Enchanted Toyshop. It was great to see so many faces of all ages. It was very hard for our staff to choose the cast for this production. Since Tribute is in three acts, this is just one of the many dance works that will be featured at the show.
The Enchanted Toyshop will open the show and runs about 45 minutes. With the limited space at the Fargo Theatre and the short run time of the production, we were not able to cast everyone. Thank you for sharing your talents with us at auditions, and please don't get discouraged, keep training and we will see you at The Classic Nutcracker auditions in September. We will also be holding a workshop in August for The Classic Nutcracker, so don't miss that! It's a great way to learn more about the audition process, as well as ballet performance training.
Act 2 of Tribute will highlight dance pieces from FMBallet founders, Kathy & Eddie Gasper from the last 4 decades! We are excited to share these pieces again with the Fargo-Moorhead area and our patrons. These pieces will be danced by our Company members.
Closing the show we present NEW contemporary ballet works, Spirit Rising. This is a story about Nimuue, who's remains were found in on Hwy 59 en route to Pelican Rapids, MN in 1931 by construction workers. Artistic Director, Matt Gasper has been working on fictional (with non-fictional elements) of the new contemporary ballet story for the last 3 years and is excited to present the story on the Tribute stage. Researching music, developing the story and characters, and choreographing excerpts, and we are delighted that he is finally ready to share this work on the stage in Fargo-Moorhead feautring the FMBallet company.
We are beyond excited to celebrate 40 years with the Gasper family this season as we present Tribute: Celebrating 40 years of Dance. Tickets are now available. Tribute will take place April 6 & 7, 2019 at the Fargo Theatre, Downtown Fargo.
