Emma Kulla

Principal

Emma is a junior in high school. She started dancing when she was three and fell in love with the art of dance the minute she put on her ballet slippers. Through her 13 year career she has been blessed with many amazing opportunities in dance which has inspired her love of the art continue to grow.

This is Emma's fifth year with the FMBallet and has had the opportunity to perform with the company in a variety of ballets including the role of Clara in The Classic Nutcracker, Jasmine in Aladdin, Terror in Terrors Kiss, the Princess Doll in The Enchanted Toy Shop, and various roles in Mid-Summer Nights Dream, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Dantes Inferno, Breaking Beautiful, Wizard of Oz, Spirit Rising and Paquita.

Emma has received several awards over her years including scholarships to numerous summer intensive programs through professional ballet companies as well as university programs and pre-acceptance letters to a number of prestigious Universities. She has participated in the worlds largest ballet competition, Youth America Grand Prix, for five years and is looking forward to it again this year.

In addition to her time with FMBallet she has been a member of the Gasper’s School of Dance competition team for seven years and has had the opportunity to participate in numerous competitions. During her time on the team she earned a variety of awards including showstopper awards, jazz awards, scholarships to dance intensives and top ten recognitions. She qualified for her first national dance competition at the age of ten.

Emma spent this past summer studying with the Oregon Ballet Theater at their summer intensive program where her passion for dance continued to intensify. She has participated in many other summer intensives including the Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Dancerpalooza, USA Ballet, Chanhassen Dinner Theater, and the University of Madison. She has attended Regional Dance America for four years (three regional and one national).

She is excited to once again be a part of the FMBallet and bring the beauty of dance to the Fargo Moorhead community.
