Anne Witteman Borowicz

Corps de Ballet

Anne started dancing consistently at eight years old, after a failed attempt at soccer. She took classes at the Brant School of Dance Arts in Fargo, ND, until her high school graduation. During those years, she studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and modern styles of dance and became enamored with the art, specifically ballet and tap. She also studied at Lillehammer Balletskole in Norway when she was 12 and at Trollwood Performing Arts School throughout high school. Anne participated in the Dance Excellence Festival in Los Angeles, CA, for two years, getting the opportunity to perform at Disneyland and take master classes. She also performed with the Moscow Ballet and Northern Plains Ballet in the early 2000s.

After finishing her senior year of high school, Anne stopped dancing for some time to heal from an injury and to focus on completing her college education; there were not many opportunities as an adult to take dance classes in the area. Throughout this time, she continued to love dance from afar. In fall 2016, she started taking adult classes at Gasper's School of Dance and Performing Arts. Her first foray back into performing was with the FMBallet in their performance of The Wizard of Oz in April 2017. Anne has now been a company member since fall 2017. Performance credits from last season include Moon in Terror’s Kiss; Order of the Night in Spooky Ballets; Snowflake, Charming, and Flower in Nutcracker; and Principal Solider Doll in The Enchanted Toyshop.

Anne has a master’s degree in mental health and substance use counseling and is employed at a local agency, helping people achieve their goals and better their lives. When she isn't working or dancing, you can find her spending quality time with her friends and spouse, playing video games, or chasing after her puppy.

She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the FMBallet for a third season and sends a special thank you to those who have supported her dance career. She hopes you will enjoy what this season has to offer!
